Along Whyte Ave is where you’ll find one of Edmonton’s most iconic cafes - Block 1912. Since its inception in 1992, Block 1912 has served the Old Strathcona community as well as been featured on the Food Network, received dozens of Golden Fork Awards, among other countless mentions and accolades for their coffee, desserts, and sandwiches. 

Block 1912 continues to be an advocate for the local art and music scene with a Monday jazz night, and Thursday live music night, as well as featuring local art throughout the cafe.
